What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol. It’s one of 120+ chemical compounds naturally found in cannabis. Both hemp and marijuana derive from cannabis, but each were bread for a specific purpose. Marijuana is high in THC content and low in CBD, while hemp is high in CBD with trace amounts of THC.
Is CBD Legal?
Yes, CBD is Legal. The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp, defined as hemp and its derivatives with low THC (<0.3%) from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substance Act, thus decriminalizing hemp on the federal level. CBD is derived from hemp plants and is legal in the US and most countries worldwide while only containing trace amounts of THC. Curatio is THC-Free.
Our CBD extract is the first of its kind to the market. Curatio Life Sciences crafted a custom hemp strain that yields a specific medicinal profile of CBD and other potent Cannabinoids (15%+), terpenes, and triglycerides that work synergistically to unlock a more comprehensive set of benefits than you would get from CBD alone. Curatio Hemp naturally yields 3% THC that our scientists convert to CBN (1:1 conversion) through a patented oxidation process. Our robust CBD profile acts like THC as our CBN binds to the CB1 receptor and shares the same medicinal characteristics without the psychoactive effects. We are confident that the power of our cannabinoid ratio (CBN, CBG, CBDv, CBC) will redefine CBD therapy. Compare 3% CBN to 0.3% THC — there is no comparison.
Entourage Effect refers to the synergism that occurs when cannabinoids and terpenes are combined to create a more powerful effect than CBD alone. Many still believe that THC is the most critical cannabinoid along with CBD in establishing the entourage effect. The entourage effect is most evident with a significant amount of THC, much more than 0.3%. Curatio’s formula includes 3% CBN, which, in our case, is a substitute for THC without the psychoactive effects. Curatio has unique secondary cannabinoids (CBN, CBG, CBC, CBDV 15%+) — the most robust in the market than 0.3% THC products. Curatio’s Full Spectrum is better served with CBN as the CB1 connector.
Broad Spectrum CBD
Broad Spectrum CBD does not include THC. In its creation, THC is removed, thus also eliminating most of the secondary cannabinoids in the process. It does not contain a full profile of hemp based terpenes, flavonoids, esters and phenols, since they are burned off in the distillation process. Some broad spectrum CBD products re-introduce botanical terpenes into their product to try and increase medicinal effect. Minimal entourage effect is achieved with this type of extract.
CBD Isolate does not contain any other cannabinoids, terpenes, lipids, or flavonoids. CBD, when isolated, is only the molecule. It comes in a white powder versus a dark oil, seen in full-spectrum and broad-spectrum products. CBD isolate has limiting effects, with no entourage effect.
